Slim pantry cabinet from CD racks

Here is my IKEA hack of a slim pull-out pantry cabinet. It uses 2 GNEDBY shelf units, which is a CD cabinet as part of a TV unit set-up.

IKEA item used:
  • GNEDBY shelf unit
Other materials:
  • Wood boards
  • Drawer slides
  • Knob for the door

How to hack a slim pantry cabinet

I cut the height of the GNEDBY shelf unit down to about 120cm to fit my space. Replicate the holes for the hardware using the discarded pieces.

I placed the two GNEDBY shelf units back to back and glued them together.

Then I added 6 metal sliding rails where I want the shelves to be.

The rest is cutting wood to make the layers of shelves and pull-out door.
