We’ve harmonized our hacks in an open concept condo.
IKEA items used: 3 BESTÅ wall hung shelf units, 6 grey lacquered doors and UTRUSTA push openers.
Hickory faced ¾ inch thick plywood was purchased and cut to size in a specialty wood shop. Red oak edge strip was used for finishing edges. 8 panels were necessary to cover all sides (screwed from the inside)
We sanded, stained with a Grey shade of Saman product.
3 coats of bees wax to give it a natural finish.
Similar to the TV unit we recently hacked, we’re thinking of adding a glass, recessed between the raised side panels to protect the surface. We’re thinking maybe a smokey semi transparent glass to allow the wood grain to be seen. We’d love to hear what people think.
